Consider the setting
Look at the wider façade, background lighting, viewing angles and the way customers approach the site. A sign needs to work in its environment.
Think about the daytime finish
Materials, colour, depth and fixing details influence the sign even when the lighting is off. Review the intended daytime appearance alongside the illumination.
Discuss the lighting effect
Bring reference photographs showing the effect you want. The designer can then consider the relationship between construction, face material and lighting.
Plan for servicing
Think about how the sign can be reached, when maintenance work can take place and what parts of the site may need to be isolated or accessed.
Agree the specification
Before production, confirm the approved design, dimensions, materials and project requirements with the team. A photograph alone is not a complete manufacturing specification.
